Bee Group Accountants (“BGA”) are committed to the privacy of our clients. This Privacy Policy outlines how we protect your personal information while collecting, using and disclosing this information, and it will apply to any information given by you when using our services. When you or another individual provides information to our firm, you will be deemed to have consented to the collection, use or disclosure of the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The Policy does not create any contractual rights between BGA and a client or individual.

BGA only collects information considered necessary to provide services to you. Information may be collected from:

(b) Employees, prospective employees of our contractors and suppliers of goods and services;

(c) Third parties during the course of acting for clients.

  • Tax File Number and other identification numbers;

  • The services provided to you;

The type of information which we collect will depend upon the type of accounting and taxation services we provide to you and your interaction with us.

You do not need to supply us with personal information but if you do not do so we may not be able to provide you with accounting and taxation services, communicate with you, or complete our legal obligations to you.

How is your information collected

The ways in which we may collect your personal information are:

  • Directly from you in person, by telephone, or in writing by email or otherwise;
  • From third parties such as related companies and our service providers;
  • From a third party, for example a financial adviser, an accountant or other professional adviser engaged by you.

Website collection of information

BGA collects personal information about visitors who use our website.  Examples of this include:

  • If the individual provides information to us through our contact form;
  • Information such as IP addresses, browser type, operating systems and domain names, as well as dates and times of access.
  • We also use analytical software to collect information about the use of our website.  This information includes navigation through the website, number of visits, duration of visits and commonly used areas of the website.  This information is used to improve our website and our services and is not used to identify visitors personally.

BGA takes steps to ensure the protection of all information we collect and to ensure that there is no unauthorised access or misuse of personal information.

We are required to retain personal information for some years by law.  Files are kept at a secure off‑site location that is not under our direct control.  We have made reasonable enquiries and satisfied ourselves that the information retained at this site is secure.  We are not responsible for the security of personal information at this site.  Once there is no requirement for the ongoing retention of personal information, procedures are followed to ensure that it is destroyed.

How your information is used

BGA only uses your personal information for the purpose of providing services to you and for related internal management purposes including:

  • providing accounting and taxation services;
  • conducting our business and meeting our legal obligations;
  • providing you with information and services relevant to your business and circumstances;
  • communication with you or your associated entities;
  • to purchase goods or services;
  • to market our services to you by way of email or social media sites.

If you are a client you consent to us collecting, using, disclosing and storing your personal information so that we:

  • can conduct our business; and
  • provide accounting and taxation services to you.

  • we are required by law or a Court/Tribunal order;
  • we send the information to a third party expert we have engaged to assist us in providing accounting, taxation or business advisory services to you (eg., a consultant, lawyer, insolvency practitioner) provided that we reasonably believe that you have authorised us to do so.

We reserve the right to amend the Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with our requirements and the law.  Any amendments will be updated on our website.  You accept these changes by continuing to use our website and our services.

What you can do if you wish to make a complaint
